Style Trends, Wardrobe Must-Haves

Now that it’s mid-March, you’re probably just itching to get out of your sweaters (no pun intended) and integrating some spring clothing into your work wardrobe.  It might not be quite warm enough yet to go out in short sleeves, but these pieces could be worn now with a thin cardigan or blazer on top until it warms up.

Dresses, like either of these plaid belted or eggplant colored cap sleeveed ones, are always a no-brainer because you can add knee-high boots or leggings/tights to keep warm in fall and winter, or wear with just a fabulous pair of shoes come spring and summer.

It’s also easy to mix and match various tops with light sweaters and mix them up with skirts, pants, or even over another dress to give you different spring looks.  This adorable rosette blouse from SHE Boutique can be worn with other pieces that incorporate black or blue.  This green bow-tie plaid top is a great transition piece because the material is a little heavier, but since it’s short-sleeved, makes a great option for early spring.  A button down top is a must-have basic for any wardrobe.  The fact that this one is sleeveless makes it easy to wear in colder or warmer weather.  Try adding a belt or layer necklaces to create various looks.  If you need something to take you from office to an evening out, look no further than this 70′s tuxedo inspired ruffled top.  Easily wearable with jeans (as seen in the photo), or pairable with trouser pants or a pencil skirt for the office.

It’s not that warm yet for sandals at the office, but you could incorporate a peep-toe with a closed back such as this conservative, yet individualistic pump.  Wooden platforms are in — take advantage of this style trend by incorporating these fun, yet work-wearable lace-up open-toe platforms.  Or add some sexy to your work attire with these glossy weaved open-toe platforms by Jeffrey Campbell.
