Violet Revolution

Have you ever wanted to shop in a Chicago neighborhood, but weren’t sure what you’d find to pull an outfit together?  Friends have told me at times they’d like to shop in those areas, but aren’t sure they’d find what they need in one place.  So I decided to show my readers how you can put together an outfit with pieces from various stores.  A deconstructed Lookbook of sorts, I guess.  These pieces are from stores in Wicker Park, off of Division just east and west of Damen.  You can make a day of it — grab some light fare at Milk and Honey to get started, shop around, have an organic pizza for lunch at Crust, shop more, grab a yummy snack at Alliance Bakery (the old school looking place with all the extravagant cakes in the window…a must see if you haven’t yet), shop more…you get the idea.

This yellow dress is by Nieves Lavi-NY from le Dress.

These criss-cross square cut-out espadrilles by Charles & David from Pump Chicago.

This adorable snap closure clutch, which is decorated inside and out (left side vs. right), was so popular at Habit, that someone bought one of the bags while I was there, and another girl waiting for the bus came inside just to inspect it further.  So fun and inexpensive too (they were only around $58)…if there are some left, you should definitely snag one of these.

What can an outfit be without jewelry?  Find some to suit your taste.  The pictured citron beaded necklace is also from Habit, while the assorted earrings and beaded cuff bracelet are from Greenheart Shop.

Now you’re all dressed up and ready to go.
