Q: What are the hottest sunglass styles this season?

A: This season, square frames are all the rage, but make sure they complement your face shape.  A rule of thumb to use when purchasing sunglasses (or even eyeglasses) is to buy a frame opposite to the shape of your face.  The good news here is that square sunglasses work with nearly all face shapes except obviously square shape faces, and most likely heart-shaped faces.  However, you should also pick a frame size that’s in proportion to the size of your face.  So even though larger frames are still in, be wary of buying too large of a pair for your face, or else it might look like you’re wearing cataract glasses.  These black and white square ones from Broken Cherry are an awesome pick.

Retro-inspired sunglasses from various decades are popular this season too.  Cat eye is a shape you’ll see a lot this season: check out this red “Lolita-esque” pair or this turquoise striped pair.  Ever since Ray Ban brought back the Wayfarer frame, similar styles have popped up, such as this Oliver Peoples red pair created in collaboration with actress Zooey Deschanel.  There’s also early 80′s inspired square frame sunglasses with the drop temple design from Marc by Marc Jacobs.
