Lookbook: Top Colors for Spring and Summer

You’ve probably heard by now that Pantone’s color of the year is Turquoise.  (For those of you who are unfamiliar, Pantone is the world-renowned authority on color, and has been inspiring design professionals for over 45 years.)  Rightfully so, it’s a vibrant color that can be matched with nearly all other shades, such as purple, silver, yellow, or brown, to name a few.

However, there are other colors in Pantone’s trend report that will be hot this Spring & Summer.  Be sure to incorporate these into your wardrobe to create a fresh, updated look.

What they call Aurora Yellow, is what I’d describe as a pineapple, tropical yellow.  One of the hottest pairings this season is to mix it with some grey/charcoal or black, as shown with this color block tunic from TwentyThirtyForty.

No wimpy melon colors this year, Fusion Coral is another bright color you’ll see this season.

If yellow’s too mellow, and melon’s not your thing, go even brighter with Tomato Puree which is kind of a rosy (slight pink hue, not as deep) red color.

For a brighter, bolder blue, Amparo Blue is your color this season.  This color just screams “cheery” to me…hard to ignore, hard to be “blue” just looking at it, which is exactly how I’d describe these earrings from Ali Precious.

Another Spring color must-have in my book is Violet.  Seriously…how could I ignore this one?  And how can you ignore this adorable skirt from Krista K?

Not a color person?  Colors they call Tuscany & Eucalyptus have a very natural, earthy look.  See them paired together in this dress from TwentyThirtyForty.
