It’s always important to accessorize wherever you go, but what type of jewelry should you bring on Spring Break? I’d recommend bringing versatile, lightweight, fashion jewelry vs. the real stuff. Unless you are going to wear it at ALL times, why risk losing it or having it stolen on your trip? By bringing versatile pieces too, you won’t have to bring as much with you (hence less to keep track of). Also, keep your jewelry in your carry-on vs. checked luggage. I personally had my fashion jewelry stolen from my checked bag on my trip back from South Beach (thank goodness nothing of any value), and when boarding a cruise, my friend’s luggage was put on another ship!
I personally don’t bring too many necklaces on tropical vacations because sometimes my skin is too sensitive from the sun. I definitely try to pick a versatile piece such as the wooden swirl pendant or gold disk long chain necklace (which can also be wrapped into a bracelet), that I can wear with a variety of outfits. Or I’ll stick with a tropical themed piece, like this necklace on the right found at & B-Girls:
Speaking of bracelets, this adorable mother of pearl necklace from Calypso is a great statement piece (and versatile) if you want to wear just a little bit of jewelry:
These earrings are also pretty basic, yet not seen everywhere:
And add some fun into your wardrobe with this multi-colored filigree ring or Japanese-inspired floral ring (middle and center):
