“It’s that two seconds when you’re sitting in the audience of a fashion show and you lean over and whisper to your best friend, ‘I want that!’ I’m changing that two seconds from ‘I want that’ to ‘I’m getting that!”
That was the quote on Kristin Hassan’s program at her Summer Collection Fashion Show last Thursday night at the 900 Shops on Michigan. More than a quote, it was a reality. Once the collection was presented, it was announced that you could try on and purchase the designs modeled during the show.
What a great idea. Fashion is all about being in the moment. You’re in a store or you’re online, you see something you like and you have to have it. Now. Six months later, you might have bought something similar, allocated your shopping funds to other purchases, or forgotten about it all together. And the timing of her unveiling is perfect. Spring is just beginning here in Chicago, and everyone is anxious to shed their winter coats, boots, and heavy clothing for some spring dresses and sandals. Especially with the freezing weather we had last week. Not to mention, more events are beginning to pop up as they always do every spring/summer: baby/bridal showers (stay tuned for my article on What to Wear to showers later this week!), graduation parties, summer fests. You’ll need outfits for all these occasions, and Kristin’s collection is the ideal choice.
Take a look at some of her designs below. I love the blue floral sleeveless shirtdress, wrap skirt with tank, and pink/purple or pink/yellow floral wrap dresses – those would be perfect for the one (or many) bridal or baby showers you’ve got coming up. The purple leopard or multi-color skirted (shown far left, last photo) ruffle dress is so cute for a party (I’d throw myself a birthday party just to have an excuse to wear it!), and the navy twill romper or purple/stripe jersey flow tank (center of last photo) are perfect for hanging out and grabbing some drinks or perhaps at one of the many fests we have going on over the summer.
After the show, the racks came out of both her current collection and a more formal collection of black and blush pink (so in right now) satin dresses, tops, and skirts. In fact, if you like the designs, but need something a little more formal, you can find dressier versions on Smashing Darling. You can see how her dressier trapeze dress design looks on the model above (shown in pink, far right of last photo). Visit Kristin’s site now through April 26th to shop online and save 25% with promo code: VIOLET!
This woman decided she “wanted that” pink/yellow floral wrap dress and tried it on at the event:
At the end, Kristin and all the models posed for some photos. I just had to include this picture in here, as Kristin Hassan (center) is 7.5 months pregnant and looks fabulous! I just had a baby myself, so love showing women that you can be pregnant and stylish at the same time!

A fashion show where you get to try on the clothes and make purchases…What a great idea. (Although perhaps a little dangerous for the old credit card – lol!) Her designs are gorgeous!

I just discovered Kristin’s line via her blog, and I’m in love! Everything is so cute and affordably priced. I LOVE that it’s made in the U.S.A. too. I’ve got my eye on that cute Flow Tank Top of hers…
