Have you see the latest Katy Perry video for California Gurls, and wished you could live in your own real version of Candyland? Roaming around a place full of candy, chocolate, and other desserts sounds like a good time to me. A place like this does exist with every sweet delectable your heart desires. I’m talking the 5 C’s here, ladies: Candy, Cupcakes, Cotton Candy, and Chocolate. Oh and Coconut. So 6 C’s. Add a cup full of pampering, and possibly no weight gain, and this really could be heaven on earth.
What is this place, you ask? It’s Mojo Spa, where you can get handmade, dessert scented, and in some cases dessert shaped, beauty products made from natural food ingredients and aromatherapy blends. If you’re trying to lose a few extra pounds, but can’t stay away from sweets; this could be the ultimate compromise.
You can buy a slice of lemon or red velvet cake and bathe with it.
If a slice of cake won’t do, try a whole mini-bundt cake or cupcake. I bought the coconut bundt cake soap — it’s scrumptious and makes my skin very soft. (Don’t you seriously think you’re looking in a bakery window right now?)
To say that these products smell good is an understatement. You literally have to remind yourself not to eat them. Mojo is also well-known for its soy lotion candle, which of course smells delicious (one of the flavors, I mean scents, is peach martini) and comes in a cute martini glass. As the candle burns down, it leaves behind a liquid lotion which you can then massage into your skin.
There are at least 195 other bath and beauty products other than the 5 I just mentioned. Some other products are after-sun lotion, leave-in conditioner, deodorant, the latest Twilight sugar scrub, which smells like amber and vanilla and is supposed to help remove skin impurities and lessen breakouts; as well as make-up products like a lip gloss candy pack.
You can also schedule manicures, pedicures, and facials using their signature products.
Take a look at the menu of fun services you can get, like the Sugar Daddy or Hot Momma. Plus the first Friday of select months is their Pajama Night where a minimum purchase of $30 gets you Free Deli Fresh Facials, Make-Up Application, DJ Spinning, & Homemade Dessert Bar. Then on most Sundays you can get Beauty and Brunch, a complimentary homemade brunch with any Silver, Gold, or Platinum combo services purchase. Previous Brunch Specials have included: Sticky Toffee French Toast with Caramelized Walnuts, Berry Tea Poached Apples w/ Homemade Granola on French Toast, Roasted Garlic Spinach Parmesan Bread Pudding, and Ginger Bread Pancakes w/ Molasses Maple Syrup.
There’s also a selection of cute handbags and accessories to shop from too.
Even if you don’t live in Chicago, the owner has an Etsy store of accessories. You could also purchase the beauty products online, copy some (real food) recipes off the blog, and create your own Girls’ Mojo night of pampering where you live.
Have you been to Mojo? Which is your favorite product, or if you’ve never been, which product would you love to try?
